I think the Smart Pen is AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really want one I think that is so cool that it can record the entire lecture and then you can download it and not only record what was said but what you wrote as well I would really like to see how well the pen would record in a huge auditorium style classroom If you were at the back of the room and the professor was at the front I also think 200 is a bad price because it has a lot of features but the recording range does worry me.

I think there are times when online courses are awsome and can be very helpful to students, but I also think there is times when online classes are not good and a lot of it depends on the instructor I think online classes are very good for students that have to work a lot or live farther away and dont want to drive into school they are good for students who work a lot because they are able to complete the assignments on there on own time. Some clases such as math and public speaking I do not think they should be avalible online because that just doesnt make any since to do a speech to a computer and math is just way to hard to be offered online. It also depends on the instructor because your instructor might want everyone to get on and have a discussion at a certain time and if you have to work or are busy that takes a way from the “online” aspect.

WebQuest

I used zunal.com to create my webquest I really like the webquest idea esp for high school or college age students. I dont think it would be as effective for younger kids because i dont know if it could hold their attention it would have to be very short and fun and they would have to have access to computers but it would be a good computer lab activity I thought it would be very effective for high school students and i feel like it would almost make them learn something new because they would read the question then find it some where in the web sites. I liked creating the webquest as well I thought it was pretty fun sort of like a power point but with different objectives.

Graphic software is defined as digital visual images, whether drawings, photos, or graphs. Some examples of Graphic software is Crayola Make a Masterpiece for ages 5-12, Orly Draw a Story for ages 5-10, and Disneys Magic Artist Studio for ages 4-12 all of these programs are examples of graphics software that can be used in the classroom. All of these graphics software give students a chance to express themselves.

Microsoft has a lot of different options avalible to help people with different diabilities as they work on the computer. Such as the font on the screen can be made larger if you are visually impared, or smaller if that helps as well. The color of the font can also be changed if you are color blind. The size of the icons can also be enlarged for those who are visually impaired. The Microsoft Magnifier also alows you to magnify protions of the screen. There are many different options availble for those who are visualy impaired. For people who are hearing impaired there are also many different sound options and sound schemes that can help you. You can adjust the pitch and volume and many others things envolving the sound on the computer.

Today we compared the text-to-speech website and the text-to-speech option on Excel. Microsoft Excel was okay some of the benifits is that you can change the color of the font and it will say anything you type in. The disadvantages of Excel is that the voice is Microsoft Sam and he is very hard for me to understand and he doesnt prenunciate some words right, he also talks pretty fast so sometimes it sounds like a jumbled mess. Another disadvantage is that Excel isnt on every computer, but you can access the website from any computer. The Text-to-speech.imtranslator.net was one of the web sites that we looked at this one had a lot of good features I thought the voices on the website were way better than on Excel. On the website you can change the speed to talk faster or slower, you can choose a mans voice or a womans voice, and it also has several different languages. Overall I think the website is the best for free because it is easy to understand and has several options. The Natural reader seemed like it was okay but once again it was microsoft sams voice and I have a very tough time understanding what he says. I do like the fact that you can use Microsoft Word with this program that allows you to do many things with font and color. However the version of natural reader that you pay for does seem like it would be the best but once again it isnt free.
